Declaration to Eradicate Harassment

The Nippon Chemical Industrial Group declares that we are committed to eradicating harassment and creating a safe and pleasant workplace environment.

Harassment in the workplace is a serious issue that unfairly harms an individual’s personality and dignity, interferes with their ability to demonstrate their abilities or perform their duties, disrupts workplace discipline, and causes a company to lose the trust of society.

The Nippon Chemical Industrial Group has established the following basic policy to create a sound and comfortable workplace free from harassment.

1.Employees of the Nippon Chemical Industrial Group will be responsible for maintaining good order and cooperative relationships in the workplace by recognizing other employees as equal partners in carrying out business, and they will not engage in any of the types of harassment listed below in the workplace while paying attention to their words and actions. They will also not engage in these kinds of activities against people other than fellow employees.

  • Power harassment
  • Sexual harassment
  • Harassment related to pregnancy, childbirth, childcare leave, and family care leave
  • Any other harassing activities not based on workplace authority, or equivalent actions that are prejudicial to the working environment or infringe the personality or dignity of individuals

2.This policy applies not only to regular employees but also to all workers employed by the Company, regardless of title, including fixed-term employees, and dispatched employees.

3.If an employee engages in harassment, the Company will take prompt and firm action against the person under the rules of employment.

4.The Company has consultation desks against harassment in place both within and outside the company.

5.The Company will continue to work to create a workplace free of harassment by promoting the understanding of harassment and human rights through the dissemination of information on our efforts to prevent harassment and provide related training.
